Rosella Lawrence NEEDS YOUR HELP !

On May 10, 2007, at approximately 7:39 a.m., 12-year old Rosella Lawrence was standing on the sidewalk at the intersection of Guy Brewer Boulevard & South Conduit Avenue, Queens.  She was struck by an out of control automobile driven by a former New York City Police Officer and pinned against a utility pole.

Rosella, a beautiful, intelligent student in the sixth grade at P.S. 195 and a girl with a zest for life and a talent for “stepping”, was almost killed.

Rosella suffered life threatening injuries to her organs and left leg. After life-saving surgery at Jamaica Hospital to stop the bleeding and repair her left leg, she was transferred to New York Presbyterian Hospital where she has undergone multiple operations and treatment and where she is still hospitalized.

Rosella comes from a hard-working family with a loving mother and father.  They are overcome by the expenses of this life-shattering injury that has changed all of their lives forever.

Rosella, when she leaves the hospital, faces years of treatment, surgery and therapy, which threatens to bankrupt her family. She will also need to live in an accessible apartment due to her unique health situation.

The people of Queens and the people of New York City, already opened their hearts and prayers to Rosella and her family including her mother, Monica Phillips who thank you for your support. We also welcome any financial assistance which you can provide Rosella to assist and pay for medical expenses related to her recovery.
